Applying to the TEACH Program

The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center is now seeking applications for the Fall 2009/Spring 2010 cohort of the TEACH Program !


Program Requirements

Applicants should be Ph.D. students (or graduate students pursuing a terminal degree in their discipline) with official teaching appointments for both the fall and spring semesters of the 2009-2010 academic year. And yes. TEACH fellows who actively participate in the TEACH Program do receive a $500 stipend per semester. Some of the basic requirements for participation in the program include:


Please note: Past TEACH fellows estimate that time spent in the program was equivalent to approximately 30 - 40 hours per semester. The TEACH Program is intensive, but worthwhile, and if you have any questions about the time commitments, please don’t hesitate to contact us !


The Application Process

The entire application is online and very simple! The application requirements include:

  1. Two faculty recommendations using the Faculty Recommendation Form available online (designated faculty recommenders will receive an email with a link to the form).
  2. A personal statement from the applicant. In this statement, please include:
    1. Progress toward degree.
    2. Area of research.
    3. Previous teaching experience.
    4. Career goals.
    5. Reason for interest in the program.
    6. Discussion of your experience with having your teaching evaluated, and how you responded to such feedback.
  3. Curriculum vitae.
  4. A completed application form.
  5. Students who speak English as a second language should provide a copy of the teaching recommendation letter emailed or given to them and their graduate advisors at the completion of the ITA workshop.


    6. The system will open for applications on Monday, March 16.

    Application materials should be submitted online at http://www.tltc.ttu.edu/teach/apply.

    The deadline for completed applications is Friday, April 10th, 2009.

    TEACH Blog

    A new feature to the 2007-08 edition of the TEACH program was the development of a weblog. We used this blog as a means to communicate with TEACH fellows in a less formal manner. During the course of the year, we posted articles of interest as well as reminders/advice about TEACH projects or events. TEACH fellows are welcome to comment on a post and add any insight or ask any questions they may have. The TEACH staff is available to address any questions or comments throughout the week.
