The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Texas Tech University has been awarded a spot on The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Recognizing institutions of higher education that encourage and support significant student community service efforts as well as the highest in standards for community service, the award is prestigious. Awarded the honor in 2008, Texas Tech strives to meet the program’s goals. These include:

  • Increasing the use of service-learning in the Texas Tech University System
  • Increasing the number of students enrolled in Texas Tech University to be engaged in community service
  • Increasing public awareness of the service contributions of students at Texas Tech University to their community and the nation

By participating in service learning projects, students can gain enhanced learning through the exploration and application of academic course material in a ‘hands-on’ community context.
