    Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing question databases and exams that can be published directly to Blackboard or printed to paper.     Many textbook publishers provide a test bank, or question database, for the textbook an instructor has adopted for classroom use. Respondus can be used to convert these publisher files to your Blackboard course(s).

    Texas Tech University has obtained a campus-wide license for the Respondus Quiz Tool software. Respondus is a Windows application that enhances the functionality and usability of Blackboard quiz, survey, and self-test tools.

    For A New Installation:

    To begin the installation process, click on the red text below, "Click Here to Download Respondus." You will then see the login screen. Enter your eRaider username and password as shown in the example below. You must put "ttu\" in front of your eRaider username!

    During the installation process you will be asked to enter the name of the institution, the local support contact, and the installation password. The information can be copied and pasted from below into the appropriate fields.

    NOTE: It's important to note that you are NOT able to download the software directly from the Respondus website.

     

    Extra Password needed to publish from Respondus to Blackboard:

    11/22/2010 - A new password policy requires a change to the Respondus Publish Feature for all Respondus users. Please click on the link below to receive your new unique Respondus user password. (It will look something like this - 3c83xdad2912ca5ac382fba5b73c01cd:12504.)

    Respondus Publish Feature Password request - Copy and paste this new user password into your Respondus Publishing Wizard screen and save.

    To Renew an Existing Installation:

    Respondus users are required to renew the password in Respondus Quiz Tool yearly. To renew the existing installation of Respondus on your computer, please click here to access the Readme.txt file that contains the new license password. You do not need to download or re-install Respondus. Prior to August 1st, open Respondus and select File > Update License > enter the new license password. After August 1st, upon startup, the software will automatically prompt you for the new license password.

    LICENSING QUESTIONS:

    Our license with Respondus, Inc. does NOT permit instructors to obtain support directly from Respondus, Inc. If our staff is unable to solve a particular question or problem, we will contact Respondus, Inc. on your behalf.

    Our license DOES permit you to install a copy of the Respondus software on a home computer as well as your office computer. However, please note that you are not permitted to provide the Respondus software or the password information to anyone who is not affiliated with our institution. Such an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and is also illegal.
