Questions and Answers:

Am I supposed to "recycle" my course like I did in WebCT?
No, in Blackboard we do not recycle our courses. Blackboard is integrated with Banner. Banner will create a blank Blackboard Shell in the appropriate semester when you teach a course. When you access that shell for the first time, you can select to create a blank course or "copy content from another course." You can then choose to copy the content from a course you have previously developed in Blackboard. The copy process can take less than a minute depending on the amount of content you have in a course.

How are my students added to my Blackboard course?
Banner will auto-populate the enrolled students into your Blackboard Shell.

When will my students have access to my Blackboard course?
Student access to your Blackboard course will be turned on the first day of the semester.

I do not have a Banner CRN for next year’s courses!  Can I still fill out the form to request migration?
Yes!  We are only requiring the Banner CRN for the current term (Fall 2009) at this point.  If you will be teaching the course next year, you are not required to fill in the CRN field.

Where do I locate the Banner CRN?
If you are the instructor of record, you will be able to find the CRN at the Faculty Tab at www.raiderlink.ttu.edu.  If you are not the instructor of record, please request the CRN from that person.

What if I want to create my Blackboard course from scratch (a blank course)?
Go to www.tltc.ttu.edu/blackboard/courserequest.asp to fill out the course request form.  All new courses created in Blackboard will be in "development" mode. This means that the instructor/designer will be able to design and develop course content and structure, but students will not have access to the course until the beginning of the semester in which it will be taught.

Where is my WebCT course after WebCT goes away?
All existing WebCT courses will be backed up and archived.  The backup file will not be available to instructors except upon written request to blackboard@ttu.edu.
