Objective 1.1: Provide programming related to ADA technology guidelines.
Strategy:
  • Participate in the development of ADA technology guidelines.

Objective 1.2: Assist faculty and TAs of diverse backgrounds with understanding TTU teaching expectations and techniques.
Strategies:
  • Participate in International TA training.

Goal 2. Academic Excellence

Assist the faculty, teaching assistants, and instructional staff in acquiring and/or enhancing knowledge, skills, and techniques for improving student learning.

Objective 2.1: Provide faculty and teaching assistants with professional development opportunities related to the overall improvement of teaching and learning.
Strategies:
  • Offer courses, workshops and seminars focused on teaching and learning.
  • Work with faculty, at their request, to focus upon improvement in individual classes.
  • Work with units on faculty development projects.

Objective 2.2: Assist teaching assistants in preparing for a career in academia.

  • Continue to offer the Teaching Effectiveness And Career enhancement (TEACH) program.
  • Expand TA access to Center programs and facilities.
  • Offer guest lectures, at the invitation of instructors, in courses preparing future teachers.

Objective 2.3: Design and disseminate materials that enhance teaching and learning at Texas Tech.

Promote the integration of technology into instruction.

  • Identify, evaluate, and disseminate technologies that enhance learning.
  • Provide instructional technology consultations for faculty, course developers, and instructional staff.
  • Train faculty in the preparation and dissemination of distance learning course materials.

Objective 4.2: Serve as a faculty support service for instructional technology.

  • House and support general faculty electronic course materials and student/teacher communication software.

Enhance planning, performance, and assessment of The Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center services and programs.

Objective 9.1: Evaluate and assure the quality and efficiency of the services and programming provided by the Center.
